Leadership Team (Re) Forming
The timebank is member-run. That means we need talented people to help keep us operating sustainably. All work done to support the timebank is eligible for time credit -- you earn hours just the same as you would for helping another member. We need help in the following areas: event coordination, "food fairies" (bringing food to meetings), new member welcome and orientation, website administration, community liaison, fund raising, financial management, etc. If you have a skill you think would help the timebank and it's not listed here, let us know!

Timebanking Overview

~ The NWI CoThrive Timebank is a community network & mutual-aid tool
~ With it, members exchange services hour for hour, and the value of every person' hour is equal
~ Share your special interests and skills with someone in the timebank and "bank" those hours.  Like volunteering except you redeem your contributions for other services offered by another member & like bartering except you're not limited to exchanging with just one person.
~ When you request a service a Timebank Member can fulfill, you can "pay" them with your banked hours!
~ No money is exchanged!
~ Through the timebank we can share our gifts and time while strengethening our communities by opting into an economy of solidarity!  The magic is in the people, the timbank web app is just the system that helps manage the energy exchange. 
~ Sounds great, right? To join us, please complete a membership application by clicking on the "Become a Member" link above and share two personal references. 
~ Membership is Free!  Donations to help us manage administrative costs are 100% voluntary
~ Not sure, but want to learn more?  We encourage you to meet timebank members in person at our potlucks to see how timebanking nourishes communities

• Learn Sociocracy!
  We will be introducing sociocracy as the governance method for our timebank so it is very helpful if members join a community of practice to help them learn about facilitation methods and other important aspects of sociocracy such as forming proposals and consent decision making. You can earn time credits for time spent learning sociocracy in either of these ways:

  • Free online session to demonstrate how to form a proposal and gain consent. Check this link for upcoming sessions. 

  • Free group decision making for climate activists training. Details and registration link.
