Time Together: Knox County Community Exchange

Where your time is worth everything

A Time Bank is a community-based system where people exchange services using time as currency. For every hour you spend helping someone, you earn one time credit. You can then spend that credit to receive help from someone else in the network. Everyone’s time is valued equally, whether you're offering art therapy, fixing a bike, cooking a meal, or sharing tech skills.

Time banking builds strong communities rooted in mutual support, trust, and equality. It’s a way to give and receive while recognizing that we all have something valuable to offer.

We're connecting with existing organizations that already rely on volunteers — mutual aid groups, food pantries, community centers, and more. These groups issue time credits to their volunteers, recognizing their contributions and connecting them to a wider network of support.

By linking these organizations together, we’re building a cooperative web where time and care can flow freely between communities. It’s a powerful way to strengthen grassroots efforts, reward those who give their time, and make sure support gets where it’s needed most.

Welcome to our Time Bank — where your time is worth everything.
